Assignment Title: Construction of Covered Structures in Five (5) lots

The Government of Belize through the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment has received financing from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) towards the cost of Resilient Rural Belize Programme, and intends to apply part of the proceeds to the works for which this Request for Quotations (RFQ) is issued.                                                                                                 

Location of Works:     Lot 1 – Nago Bank, Belize District

Lot 2 – Valley of Peace, Cayo District

Lot 3 – San Antonio, Cayo District

Lot 4 – El Progresso/7Miles, Cayo District

Lot 5 – Santa Familia, Cayo District

Qualification of firms: Firms shall meet the following minimum qualifying criteria:

1. Experience as a contractor in the construction of at least one works’ contract of similar nature, size and complexity equivalent to the works included in this Invitation, per lot (at least one contract per lot offered), completed within the last three years;
2. The contractor must provide the following key staff and attach their respective CVs (one Project Manager and one Site Foreman per lot offered. It is possible to have the same Project Manager for multiple lots depending on lot locations and proximity):

1. The contractor must prove access to the following equipment (individual equipment per lot offered, multiples if offering for more than one lot):

1. d) Evidence of access to financial resources to successfully complete the works i.e., access to cash, letter from a bank, credit institutions, or other financial intermediary, supporting the availability of liquid financial resources in the amount of:

Lot 1: BZD 48,000.00

Lot 2: BZD 21,000.00

Lot 3: BZD 34,000.00

Lot 4: BZD 70,000.00

Lot 5: BZD 34,000.00

Access to financial resources specified above per lot offered, with combined sums for multiple lots.

The Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment/Resilient Rural Belize Programme now invites construction firms to submit your price quotation for the construction of works as outlined in the Request for Quotation (RFQ) documentation. A construction firm will be selected using the National Shopping procurement method.

Firms interested in receiving the complete Request for Quotation (RFQ) document for this works should register their interest by sending an e-mail (with subject: RRB.W.12 Request for Quotation – Construction of Covered Structures in 5 lots), to the address below. In addition, any request for clarification on the RFQ should be sent via e-mail no later than October 10, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. The Employer will provide a formal response to all questions received by October 18, 2023. The response will be issued, simultaneously, to all invited/prospective bidders.

Price quotations should be submitted solely by e-mail as a password protected attachment, in pdf format to the address below and by the deadline date, October 31, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
