La Inmaculada Credit Union mourns the tragic loss of Oswaldo Vasquez Jr.

By Horace Palacio: The La Inmaculada Credit Union Limited (LICU) is grappling with deep sorrow following the tragic discovery of their esteemed staff member, Oswaldo Vasquez Jr.’s body, which was found floating in a river in Orange Walk yesterday morning.

Oswaldo, a resident of Orange Walk, had been missing since Saturday night. The last account of him was at a gas station near the BSI compound, where he was with his wife and brother-in-law. In an unexpected turn of events, Oswaldo exited their vehicle, expressing a desire to exercise, and began to run. His wife and brother-in-law pursued him in the vehicle, but near the Guinea Grass Junction, Oswaldo dashed into some bushes and subsequently disappeared, leading to heightened concerns about his whereabouts.

This young man, described as loving, compassionate, and selfless, was widely cherished by his colleagues, members of LICU, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His untimely death has cast a pall over the community, and his absence will be deeply felt.

LICU expressed its gratitude for the overwhelming support extended to Oswaldo’s family, including his wife, children, parents, siblings, and friends, during the frantic search. Following the tragic news of his passing, there was a temporary disruption in LICU’s services. The organization conveyed apologies for the brief closure of its offices and for not being able to attend to phone and WhatsApp messages.

The credit union will resume services today. However, there might be potential disruptions due to forthcoming funeral arrangements. LICU requests prayers for strength, resilience, and solace for all grieving during this difficult period.
