Police find over a kilo of crack in Belama home, five people arrested

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police have arrested and charged five people after more than a kilogram of crack cocaine was discovered inside a house during a search.

Around 10:30 a.m. on Friday, officers conducted the search at a house on Jackfruit Crescent in the Belama area of Belize City where they found a black garbage bag containing several smaller bags of crack cocaine. The combined weight of the drugs was 1.37 kilograms. Present at the time of the search were 62-year-old Derrick Menzies, 51-year-old Ivor Lopez, 20-year-old Izid Lopez, 52-year-old Josephine Lopez, and 47-year-old Jason Clarke.

Police additionally found a gram of crack cocaine on Menzies. They were all charged with possession of controlled drugs with the intent to supply to another.
