Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing to conduct road improvement project in Punta Gorda

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing informed of the commencement of a critical road improvement project in Punta Gorda Town, Toledo District which will uplift a number of streets in that municipality.

Civil works include preparations for roadworks, drainage improvements, pavement layer levelling and improvement, application of Hot-mix asphalt road surface overlay and the replacement or addition of traffic signs.

Streets to be improved are Charles Westby Street, Far West Street, Mahogany Street, Orange Walk Street, Prince Street and Sunflower Street.

The Ministry says that works are scheduled to commence in early November for a duration of 3 months.

The Ministry urges everyone to be patient during these works and drivers are urged to exercise caution.

The Ministry urges the public to maintain slow speeds, obey caution signs and follow the instructions of flag-persons at all times.

“Safe, responsible, courteous driving is encouraged and applauded,” the Ministry said.
