By Aaron Humes: During Saturday night’s weather event, the Belize Coast Guard reported rescuing four fishermen that were stranded about seven miles southeast of Belize City.
The Coast Guard’s report explained that “They suffered engine failure and were drifting in rough seas.”
It adds, “We encourage mariners to adhere to advisories and cautions issued by the National Meteorological Service. The Belize Coast Guard can be contacted on 999 for maritime emergencies or 280-5260.”
Bad weather will continue on the mainland, but seas are expected to be calmer, though still under small craft caution for smaller vessels.
