Ministry of Rural Transformation congratulates winners of school poster competition

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour, and Local Government has extended congratulations to all the talented students who participated in the School Poster Competition, advocating under the theme, “Eliminating Child Labour in Belize.”

Out of the outstanding 23 entries received, the judges carefully assessed each poster’s creativity, originality, and the powerful message it conveyed.

The Ministry congratulates the winners:

 1st Place: Valentino Vernon Jr – Toledo Community College

2nd Place: Crissy Isabella Avilez – Sacred Heart College

3rd Place: Jair Roman – Ladyville Technical High School

“The Ministry applauds the winners for their exceptional talent and commitment to raising awareness about the elimination of child labour in Belize. Each poster tells a unique story and contributes significantly to the advocacy for a safer and brighter future for our children,” the Ministry expressed.

The 1st place poster, created by Valentino Vernon Jr of Toledo Community College, will be featured on a billboard.

This initiative aims to amplify the importance of providing children with the fundamental right to education, paving the way for a future free of child labour.

“As we celebrate these young advocates, the Ministry would like to remind everyone that we must all work together to create a Belize where every child has the right to an education and is safe from the dangers of child labour,” the Ministry added.

The Ministry says that together, we can build a future that is brighter, safer, and filled with opportunities for our children.
