City Council worker accused of assaulting two women in one day including a police officer, bail set at $1,800

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A City Council employee was charged and granted bail in court on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting two women, one of whom was a police officer.

Derek Oswald Rosales, 22, was charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of common assault. Rosales is accused of fondling a 22-year-old woman without her consent, touching her vagina and squeezing her breasts. He is also accused of touching a police officer on her leg on the same day as he gave her a ride on his motorcycle.

Rosales was unrepresented in court and pleaded not guilty to all three counts. He was offered bail in the sum of $1,200 for the sexual assault charges and $600 for the common assault with conditions of not interfering with the witnesses. He is due back in court on January 17, 2024.
