By Horace Palacio: Following a shooting incident that occurred on New Year’s Eve near its premises, Thirsty Thursday’s Restaurant and Bar has issued a statement clarifying the events and outlining its commitment to patron safety.
The statement opens with heartfelt condolences to the family of Trevor Brown, who lost his life in the incident. Thirsty Thursday emphasizes that the unfortunate event did not take place within the restaurant itself, but rather in the parking lot. Contrary to some reports, it was not an ambush, but a confrontation stemming from a minor traffic accident.
The management highlights its strict policy against firearms inside the establishment, reiterating its priority of ensuring patron safety. In response to the incident, Thirsty Thursday is taking immediate action to enhance security measures. This includes deploying additional police security personnel within the premises, including the yard and adjacent street parking areas.
“We understand the concerns raised by this unfortunate occurrence,” the statement reads, “and we want to reassure everyone that their safety is our highest priority.” Thirsty Thursday pledges to continue working diligently to maintain a secure and enjoyable atmosphere for all its guests.
