Sale of Belizean white sugar resumes

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On January 25, 2024, the Belize Sugar Industries (BSI) issued a statement informing that all imported refined sugar has been sold.

BSI has since resumed the sale of plantation white sugar (PWS) for the domestic market.

Production of PWS is now ongoing with the crop in full swing.

“Consumers can expect product to make it to the shelves in the coming days and the price will revert to the control price of 75 cents per lb,” BSI noted.
