House fire reported at San Pedro laundromat

By Aaron Humes: The cause of a fire at a laundromat inside a residence on Seagrape Drive, San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, on Monday night, is yet to be determined.

According to police, a 20 by 20-foot wooden house with zinc roofing was found engulfed in flames around ten minutes to midnight on Monday.

Fire personnel completely extinguished the fire; however, the complete structure and its content was destroyed by the fire. Further checks were made to adjacent structures in the same yard, where they sustained partial damages due to the fire.

Investigation reveals that around 11:50 pm persons socializing at a nearby bar noticed that fire and smoke was coming from inside the laundromat. Fire services were called who responded and extinguished the fire. The estimate of the total damages is unknown.
