Barcelona Journalists in Belize for familiarization tour 

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Two esteemed journalists from Barcelona, Spain, Esther Rodriguez, a renowned writer for El País, and Rafael Pola, a distinguished journalist contributing to the Independent and Diario de Viaje, embarked on a familiarization tour of Belize from February 21 to 25. 

The journalists were invited as part of a collaborative initiative between the Belize Tourism Board and the Central America Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA).

The tour aims to showcase the rich cultural and natural wonders of Belize to a broader audience.

Both journalists will delve into the scenic wonders, culture, and adventure of the Cayo District with visits to San Ignacio Town and Xunantunich, and immersive experiences such as cave tubing, pottery-making, and sampling traditional Maya cuisine. 

Additionally, they will visit San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, take part in snorkeling activities, and explore Belize’s marine biodiversity, as well as enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of Caye Caulker.

This familiarization tour promises to strengthen the cultural ties between Spain and Belize, fostering a deeper appreciation in Europe for the natural beauty and unique experiences that Belize has to offer.
