$2.50 stout costs man $30 in fines for public drinking

By Breaking Belize News Staff: An Orange Walk man paid a $30 fine after he was caught by police drinking a $2.50 Belikin stout in public.

Elmer Jiovanny Ico appeared in court unrepresented in court on Tuesday and was read a single charge of public drinking. He quickly pleaded guilty and was fined $25 plus $5 cost of court. He must pay the fine by April 12, in default, one week imprisonment.

He was arrested by police on March 16 while he was seen drinking a Belikin stout at a shop on Mahogany Street.
