By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Sure of a playoff spot, the defending champions Benny’s Belize Hurricanes return to the Belize City Civic Center on Thursday night to face Western Ballaz as the 2024 Belize Elite Basketball League regular season winds down.
The Hurricanes (5-1), currently in second place but with a better win-loss record than leaders Belize City Defenders (5-2), are looking to get a hold of the top seed.
The Western Ballaz (1-4), for their part, are hoping to make it to the playoffs. A win tonight is a must if they are are to keep those hopes alive after dropping their last game.
The championship continues on Friday with the EZ Investments Griga Dream Ballers (2-4) facing the Belize City Defenders at the Russell ‘Chiste’ Garcia Auditorium in Dangriga.
The last game of the weekend is on Sunday when the San Pedro Tiger Sharks (4-3) battle against the Belmopan Trojans (2-5) at the Belize City Civic Center.
All games tip off at 9:00 pm.
