Smart donates $4,000 to Police Department for shoe drive

By BBN Staff: Smart Belize handed over a cheque for $4,000 to the Belize Police Department on Friday, August 16, 2019.

The funds were used to provide shoes for 100 youths for the start of the 2019-2020 school year.

Commissioner of Police (COMPOL), Chester Williams said that the recipients of the shoes are youths who participated in the Youth Mentorship Program facilitated by the Police Department.

The mentorship program hosted activities to keep Belizean youths engaged and teach them basic life and academic skills.

Smart, COMPOL Williams, and his team were at the Dibary store in Belize City to oversee the fitting of the footwear for each child.
