Hobbs Brewery launches 2020 calendar

By Aaron Humes: The calendar has turned to October, but over the weekend on the Placencia Peninsula, a business on the verge of making a giant leap has started the countdown to 2020.

On Saturday at the Naia Resort and Spa, the 12 beautiful models and their sponsors, Hobbs Brewery, launched their first ever swimsuit calendar, shot at various locations across Belize and intended to draw eyes to their unique brand of alcoholic beverage.

Model Sherina Garbutt, living in the U.S. but originally from the Peninsula, says she was offered the calendar through social media contacts with Hobbs manager and calendar director Trina Nunez and was immediately hooked.

Fellow models Ashley Saunders, from San Pedro Town, and Andreinaie Samuels, say they were well-treated and satisfied by the result and are proud to be associated with this up and coming brand.

Rather than being shot one for each month, some of the models were paired with each other in the background of various tourist destinations countrywide, most of which sell Hobbs.

The other models are Zulie Young, Marilyn Mora, Kayla Awe, Desirae Mendoza, Anisha Young, Kelsey Tillett, Shephan Gutierrez, Janell Cuellar, Maria Marroquin and Jerlin Salazar.

You may recognize Young’s name from her ongoing disappearance, first reported last December. We are informed that she posed at the Sleeping Giant in November. Hobbs uses this medium to express condolence to her family and hopes that in a small way, this calendar serves as an honor of her memory, as she was respected and appreciated during her time shooting for the company.

Photography was done by Leonardo Melendez and makeup by Tania Tanesha and the design and printing was handled by Kristian Deyesso and Choice Products.

The calendar is now available at Hobbs’s offices on the Placencia Road.
