Wednesday, August 20, 2014. ORANGE WALK BUREAU Reporting: Peer helpers from the Orange Walk Technical High School have completed a training session on facilitation.
The training is part of a sustained campaign by the Belize Family Life Association intended to help students cope with various issues, among them conflict resolution and decision-making.
Counsellor at OW Technical Lisia Castillo believes that peer counselling programs go a long way in providing support for both schools and the communities they serve.
The participants of the training say there is a lot of issues faced by students in the classroom on a daily basis and that is why they are supportive of the peer helpers initiative.
Now that the students have had their training, they will now be expected to put those newly acquired skills to work in the new school year which commences in the next couple of weeks.
