Monday, August 25, 2014. PATRICK E. JONES Reporting: A shooting incident in Belize City on Friday night has left a man hospitalized.

40 year old Ralph Martinez was shot in the lower part of his back by someone who was inside of a white van travelling on Vernon Street.

According to police reports, Martinez was walking on Vernon Street when upon reaching at the corner of Mayflower and Vernon Streets, shots were fired from the moving van, injuring him.

Police say that they have since retrieved two Lugar brand expended shells from the scene of the crime.

Police investigations continue.
