Armed bandits steal $38,000 from Santa Elena businessman

By BBN Staff: The proprietor of Chen’s Supermarket in Santa Elena town, Wei Bin Chen, 60, was held up by armed robbers as he left his home this morning.

The thieves got away with $38,000.

According to Ben, he was leaving his house on Eduardo Juan street at about 8:10 a.m. when he was approached by two men on bicycles near his gate.

One of the culprits hit him to the left side of his face with a firearm and then they took away a brown bag containing the money.

The culprits then fled the scene on bicycle.
