Uncooperative gunshot victim finally talks to police

By BBN Staff: Belize City cops have finally managed to obtain further details about an uncooperative victim who was shot over the weekend.Police have identified him Marquise Conerque, 18. Cops visited Vernon Street around 5:30 Saturday evening where officers saw him with a gunshot wound to his right thigh.

An investigation revealed that he, along with a woman, were on Laura Dunn street when a man dressed in a blue t-shirt came from behind a wooden house and fired a single shot in their direction. After being shot, Conerque and the woman he was with ran through the burial ground on to Vernon Street.

The shooter then ran in the direction of Antelope Street.

Police investigations continue.
