Money changer robbed of over $12,000 in Corozal

By BBN Staff: Everaldo Magana, 63, a Belizean money exchanger of Ranchito Village, Corozal reported to police that yesterday around 5:10 am, while inside his vehicle in front of his home, he was approached by three men who demanded money.

Magana said that he told the men that he didn’t have any and as a result, he was beaten.

The three men then went into his house and stole $12,851.28 in Mexican Pesos and Belize currency.

The men then made good their escape.

Police investigations continue.
