BBN Staff: Yesterday around 5:40 PM, officers visited the KHMH where they observed 11 year old Emmett Burgess, a Belizean student of Belize City suffering from multiple injuries over his body.

Initial investigation revealed that while Burgess was crossing the Philip Goldson Highway between miles 3 and 4 to meet his grandmother, he was hit by an oncoming vehicle driven at the time by Ralph Burns, 29, a Belizean business man of Lords Bank.

Burgess is listed in a stable condition and a notice of intended prosecution has been issued to Burns.
