By BBN Staff: On Saturday two men entered Joe’s Supermarket on 16th street in Belize city.
One of the men, armed with a .9mm pistol demanded that the shop attendant hand over all the cash in his possession.
Instead, the shop attendant drew his licensed pistol and opened fire on the robbers who fled the scene and in the panic of the moment, left behind their gun.
None of them were hurt.
Police have since detained two suspects, one of which has been positively identified by surveillance footage from the store.
