Special Envoy congratulates all women who contested the municipal elections

BBN Staff: The Special Envoy for Women and Children, Kim Simplis Barrow issued a statement today congratulating all the women who contested and won municipal council seats in this year’s Municipal Elections.

Barrow also encourage increased women’s electoral participation for gender balance and greater accountability in governmental bodies.

Barrow stated that women must stand for diversity and added that they bring new perspectives and experiences which are fundamental for sustainable development in Belize.
