Hot dog vendor shot dead in Belize City

BBN Staff:Belize City police are investigating the murder of a Honduran businessman from Belize city.

This morning around 4:20, police visited Tigris street and saw the lifeless body of Juan Angel Vargas, 44.

Vargas was found face down on the street with an apparent gunshot wound to the left side of the head.

Police investigations revealed that around 3:55 a.m., Vargas arrived home in his grey van after selling hot dogs and while he was unloading items, a single gunman approached him and shot him twice.

The culprit also stole Vargas’ wallet which had his personal documents and money.

Vargas’ body was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police are investigating.
