Fake security guards rob owner of  Spoonaz Café  at gunpoint

BBN Staff:  Yesterday around 10:50 p.m., American businessman, Jeremey Alexander Spooner, 63, was held up at gunpoint by two men at his establishment, ‘Spoonaz Café’ in Belize City.

Spooner was reportedly closing his business which is located at No. 89 North Front Street when he was approached by two guys dressed in brown security guard uniform.

One of the men proceeded with forcing the glass door open and positioning the gun in the owner’s direction while demanding money as the other man robbed him of the business’ earnings.

The robbers made off with approximately $5,000 BZ – $3,000 in Belize currency and $1,000 US dollars, as well as a 9mm Glock pistol with S/N PCM942.

Police investigations are ongoing.
