Mental patient remanded to prison for chopping police man

BBN Staff:  Mental patient, Zebidee Morter, is currently at the Hattieville prison.

He will remain there until November 15th when he is to answer to charges of ‘aggravated assault’ and ‘wounding’.

Last Thursday police received calls that Morter was walking around Seine Bight village and threatening villagers with a machete.

When police approached him and instructed him to put down the machete he refused.

Instead, he chopped Special Constable, Rafael Caliz, in the back of the head.

Morter refused to submit to police, causing an officer to shoot him in his right arm.
