Police: Shooting of Daniel Alford was accidental

BBN Staff:Police are investigating a shooting incident that claimed the life of a security guard from Georgeville, Cayo.

Police reports say that around 4:30 yesterday evening, Daniel Alford,42, and two minors were hunting about 1 mile on the Mountain Pine Ridge road in Georgeville when Alford slipped while climbing a hill and accidentally shot himself.

Alford Sr. succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

The body now awaits a post-mortem examination.

Police investigation continues.
