Police: Thieves take over $50K from Premium Wines

By BBN Staff: Police are investigating a heist that occurred yesterday morning in Belize City.

Maria Price,49, manager of Premium Wines and Spirits reported to authorities that around 10:30 a.m., she was inside the store conversing with her employees’ when 3 unmasked men entered the establishment.

One of the men pointed a gun at her and then stole her Samsung Galaxy S7 valued at $1,900 along with her gold chain valued at $400.

Simultaneously, another of the culprits robbed two customers of their belongings and also stole a black and white Samsung cell phone valued at $500 from the delivery man.

One of the thieves then went toward the counter and demanded all the money.

However, the cashier refused and so the man slammed her iPhone 6S valued at $700 on the counter.

Fearing for her life, the cashier then handed over $7,219 in different denominations from the cash register.

During the robbery, they also took a backpack that contained the daily deposits and the business payroll amounting to $34,600 in cash in different denominations, $1,166.25 in checks and $6,300.00 in U.S cash.

The culprits thereafter locked everyone inside an office and made good their escape with a total of $57,219.00.

Police are investigating.
