Police find marijuana plantation in Orange Walk

BBN Staff: Yesterday Orange Walk police came upon a marijuana plantation.

Around 2:20 p.m yesterday, police acted on information received and went to an area in the jungle about 5 miles south-west of Nueland village, Orange Walk.

There, police found a thatched house and under the house, officers found 200 dried marijuana plants ranging between 5 feet and 7 feet in height.

Also under the house was a white crocus bag with 1,322 grams of marijuana and a red shirt containing 1,002 grams of marijuana seeds.

Further searches were conducted on the property, which led to the discovery of 50 marijuana plants.

The dried marijuana plants, and the 50 green marijuana plants were destroyed by fire.

The marijuana that amounted to 1,322 grams and 1,002 grams of seeds were packaged, sealed, and labeled as found property.
