Dianne Finnegan announces candidacy for Lake I

Posted: Saturday, November 3, 2018. 3:15 pm CST.

BBN Staff: Yesterday, youth advocate, Dianne Finnegan officially announced her candidacy for the Lake Independence Constituency in Belize City.

“I’m determined to do all I can to transform Lake Independence into a model community. I feel that if you want people to support you, then you’ve GOT TO make them feel that THEY are IMPORTANT and the only way to do that is by being HUMBLE showing them that you GENUINELY CARE,” Finnegan said while announcing her candidacy.

Finnegan is recognized for her work with the Youth Apprenticeship Program and has dedicated her life to assisting at-risk youths in the old capital.

In 2017, Finnegan was honored as the United States Embassy’s Wonder Woman for her contributions to peace and community.

Finnegan will contest the United Democratic Party’s (UDP) Convention with two other candidates on December 2, 2018, at Sadie Vernon High School in Belize City.

If she is victorious, she will challenge current Lake I Area Representative, Cordel Hyde in the next general elections.

Dianne is the wife of Mesopotamia Area Representative, Micheal Finnegan.
