Three charged for murder of PC Martinez and armed robbery

By BBN Staff: Last week we reported that three men had been busted in connection with the robbery of Belcove hotel in downtown Belize city.

They are Tyrique Myles, 18; Rayford Mejia, 19, and Glen Lopez, 21.

The trio was jointly charged with the murder of Police Constable, Osbourne Martinez. They were also jointly charged with three counts of robbery.

Lopez was individually charged with keeping an unlicensed firearm and keeping unlicensed ammunition.

However, only Mejia and Lopez were arraigned in court yesterday as Myles remains hospitalized after a shootout with police.

No plea was taken and Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford remanded both men to the Belize Central Prison until January 8th, 2019.
