BNTU thanks Belizeans for their support

Posted: Thursday, November 8, 2018. 8:37 pm CST.

BBN Staff: Today, the Belize National Teachers Union (BNTU) issued a statement extending gratitude to the many teachers and parents who continue to support their cause.

Yesterday, the union held a national demonstration in Belmopan City with the purpose of sending a message to the Government of Belize and the Ministry of Education regarding the categorization of hardship allowances for teachers and Proposal 22.

In their statement, the BNTU thanked all Belizeans including their members who stood up for their cause.

Minister of Education, Patrick Faber has informed that he will meet with the union to address the issues.

“ We, therefore, look forward to charting the way forward and will hold him to his word to ensure that our members are given what they justly deserve,” the union stated.

The union remains the strongest and most vibrant trade union in Belize.
