By BBN Staff: Senator for the People’s United Party (PUP), Valerie Woods is currently in Kyiv, Ukraine attending the 40th annual meeting of Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA).
The meeting is being held in conjunction with the 10th Consultative Assembly of Parliamentarians on the International Criminal Court and the Rule of Law (CAP-ICC).
Woods is a board member of the PGA.
“The PGA network provides parliamentarians around the world with the opportunity to learn about the accomplishments, challenges and approaches in our shared quest to advocate for human rights, gender equality, human security, non-discrimination and LGBT rights,” Woods shared this morning.
Woods says that parliamentarians must never lose sight of the fundamental responsibilities of the promotion of human rights, the rule of law and democracy in all they do.
