BBN Staff: Two women from Santa Elena town were shot tonight.

Minutes after 7:00 p.m., San Ignacio police responded to a shooting incident on Bishop Martin Street, Santa Elena.

Reports indicate that a lone gunman approached 2 women and shot them.

The women were transported to the Western Regional Hospital for medical treatment.

Police are still on the scene.
