Unitedville chopping victim in critical condition

BBN Staff: Michael Wallace, the 18-year-old Unitedville resident who was chopped to the head at a bus shed in the village last night, is currently receiving medical treatment at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) in Belize city and is reportedly in a critical condition.

According to reports, Wallace was waiting at the shed for a bus to Belize city when an unknown assailant approached him from behind and chopped him in his head. BBN understands that the injury was severe. He was first rushed to the Western Regional Hospital and later to the KHMH.

He remains at the KHMH in an induced coma where doctors are monitoring his progress. BBN will have more details following the police press brief this afternoon.
