Man, 35, injured during home invasion by masked men in Ladyville

BBN Staff: The victim of a home invasion that happened last night in Ladyville, Belize is in a critical condition.

Around 10 pm, authorities responded to a report of a home invasion and found Jeffrey Elijio, 35, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Elijio and his common-law wife were at home with their children when they heard a noise at their front door.

When Elijio opened his front door, he was shot by a masked man. He then reportedly ran for help. 

Shortly thereafter, 2 masked men entered the home and pointed their guns at the children.

The culprits then fled the scene.
