By BBN Staff: Every year on March 9, Belize commemorates National Heroes and Benefactors Day.

The day is set aside to recognize and remember all those who have contributed to Belize.

The Belize History Association (BHA), a non-profit organization with the objective of conducting and promoting research on Belize’s history, is launching an exhibit entitled: From Dispute to Referendum.

The public is invited for the launching of the exhibit “Yah da fu we Belize: From Dispute to Referendum” in Belmopan by the Institute for Social and Cultural Research.

The launch is scheduled for Thursday, March 14 at 10:00 a.m. at The Goldson House for Democracy and Patriotism, Belmopan.

George Gabb, Zelma “Zee” Edgell, Benjamin Nicholas, Robert “Bob” Reneau, Gerald “Lord” Rhaburn, George Price and Philip Goldson are among the many others who have been acknowledged in the public exhibition on Belize’s Hero’s, Patriots and Benefactors by the Institute for Social and Cultural Research.

“We also salute the work of groups and institutions who take this time to acknowledge the contributions of unsung heroes across the country,” a statement from the association says.
