By Aaron Humes: Jael Sjogreen, a Belizean fisherman of Dangriga, Stann Creek reported to authorities that on April 8, 2019, around 5:30 pm, he and his cousin Fredrick Lammey,16, went fishing in South Water Caye.
Sjogreen told police that he noticed his cousin Lammey began to behave very weird.
He further stated to authorities that on April 11, 2019, he decided to return back to Dangriga with Lammey Jr. who had to be tied with a rope in the boat.
However, on their way back, the boat engine malfunctioned and Lammey reportedly freed himself, jumped out of the boat, and swam away.
After repairing the engine, he tried to find Lammey but couldn’t.
An investigation is ongoing.
