New regulations for Mexican regional visitors card

By BBN Staff: Mexican authorities issued new travel and immigration procedures for regional visitors on April 23, 2019.

The Regional Visitor card is issued to Belizean, Guatemalans and nationals from El Salvador and Honduras, at the Mexican Immigration offices at seven border points of entry with Guatemala (Ciudad Hidalgo, Talismán, Unión Juárez, Cd. Cuauhtémoc, Carmen Xhan, El Ceibo) and Belize (Subteniente López-ChacTemal).

The Regional Visitor Card (Tarjeta de Visitante Regional – TVR) will be valid to travel up to 7 consecutive days to the Mexican states of Campeche, Quintana Roo, Chiapas, Tabasco and now Yucatán too.

The TVR is not valid for any other state into Mexico.

The TVR is free of charge and valid for 5 years.

Belizean nationals must present a valid passport to obtain the card.

Children and minors must present the proper authorization from both parents or a legal guardian (certified document by Peace Justice).

Permanent residents to Belize, should present a valid visa with the condition stamp as residents.
