Posted: Sunday, June 23, 2019. 9:38 am CST.

By BBN Staff: A family from Dolores Village, Toledo is appealing to the public for assistance after their home was struck by lightning and completely destroyed on Friday night during a thunderstorm.

Reports from Dolores say that just after 8 pm on Friday, the 18×30 wooden house with a thatch roof, belonging to school teacher Miguel Pan, was completely gutted during the heavy downpour.

The family of 6 lost everything including household items, clothes, school material, and about 20 sacks of corn that was stored inside the house.

Residents say that even though it was pouring rain at the time of the incident, the fire blazed out of control until everything was destroyed.

Concerned villagers were able to physically lift Pan’s vehicle and carry it away from the burning building since he was not home at the time of the incident.
