By BBN Staff: A native big cat, most likely an Ocelot, was hit by a vehicle and killed last night in the BIg Falls area on the Southern highway.
Residents in the area reported the incident to the Forest Department who is now investigating the case.
The animal was seen lying on the side of the road with trauma bleeding from its mouth.
Citizens are advised it is illegal to kill or harm these endangered animals.
