By BBN Staff: The United Kingdom and Belize Commonwealth Litter program launched their week of activities with a beach clean up at Belizean beach yesterday.

The Department of Environment (DOE) thanks Head of the Diplomatic Service at the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Simon McDonald, British High Commissioner Claire Evans, CEO Dr. Percival Cho, Chief Environmental Officer, Martin Alegria, Belize High School, Belize Audubon Society, Belize Coast Guard and the Belize Defense Force Cadets for participating in the beach clean-up.

The group continues their commitment to reducing waste by asking participants to bring their own water bottles and refusing to purchase single-use cups and plates.
