U-18 selection records wins in Belize and Petén ahead of regional championship

By Aaron Humes: The Junior Jaguars under-18 football team played two friendly matches over the weekend as it continues preparation for the Central American Football Union (UNCAF) U-18 Championship in Costa Rica from October 21-25, 2019.

The national side defeated a Bandits selection 3-2 in Belmopan on Friday, and on Sunday, October 13th travelled to Flores, Petén, Guatemala. The Belize U18 selection was victorious with a win of 3-0 against San Benito, Petén U18 with goals by new comer Angelo Cappello who plays for English side Sheffield United’s U-18 team, midfielder Alwin Zelaya and forward Jessie August.

Capello and August lead the line for the Junior Jaguars, with midfielders Andy Umana, Wayne Ford, Ian Pou, Zelaya, Alexis Chan, Jahlin Pelayo, Dion Cacho and Jefton Apolonio; defenders Joshawn Flowers, Tyrone Estrada; Luis Orozco, Jordan Casanova; Kieron Cacho and Henry Palma; and goalkeepers Charles Tillett and Isaac Castillo.
