Unidentified body found floating in Rio Bravo on the US-Mexico border may be that of a Belizean

By BBN Staff:  Mexican news outlets reported that last week, two bodies were found floating in the ‘La Playita’ area of the Rio Bravo.

After further investigations, Mexican authorities believe that one of the victims may be a Belizean national as he carried documents that were issued in Belize.

The report carried both by La Tarde and El Manana media outlets in Mexico indicate that the authorities intend to contact the Belizean consulate or embassy to confirm the identity of the victim and arrange for repatriation of the body.

The reports indicate that the name of the person is Francis N. and the body has not been claimed.

The Rio Bravo river forms part of the US-Mexico border and is known to be the final crossing for those seeking to enter the US illegally.
