By BBN Staff: The Caribbean Association of Judicial Officers (CAJO) will be holding its 6th Biennial Conference in Belize at the end of the month.
The three-day event will be held at the Biltmore Plaza Hotel from October 31st to November 2nd, under the theme “Judicial Integrity – The Pathway to Public Trust and Confidence”.
“The Conference brings together Chief Justices, Judges, Magistrates, Masters, Registrars and Executive Court Administrators aimed at creating an environment where both regional practitioners and academics can discuss emerging areas of law, best practices and new ideas for improving the delivery of justice throughout the region,” CAJO explained.
The event will feature approximately 20 sessions, will explore areas such as the rights of indigenous persons, developments in the rule of law of the Caribbean, pre-trial detention and judicial reform, in addition to other topical issues.
CAJO noted that the conference will also be accompanied by a meeting of the Conference of Caribbean Chief Justices and Heads of Judiciaries, who will convene to discuss areas such as the use and impact of artificial intelligence on the adjudication process, judicial reform and regional capacity building initiatives.
