By BBN Staff: Today, the Chairman of the Cristo Rey water board in Cayo, Alfredo Guerra, issued a statement informing residents that the village will be without water for an uncertain amount of time.
Guerra says that after the heavy rains, several main pipes were washed away in locations around the village.
“The water board will do all it’s best to restore water to the village at the earliest possible time,” the statement said.
Guerra says that pipes will be repaired after the water recedes from the creeks and noted the replacing of the pipes may be costly.
