Hot day ahead, inland temperatures to exceed 100 degrees

The National Meteorological Service of Belize says that weather conditions will be notably hot today, especially in inland areas.

The 24-hour forecast says that skies will be mostly sunny today and clear tonight. Hot, windy and hazy conditions will prevail with no rainfall development expected.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 92 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 103 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 88 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 74 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 64 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

“Residents, especially those inland, are advised to stay hydrated and seek shelter from direct sunlight. The risk for brush and forest fires remains high,” the Met Service said.

Winds will be gusty, blowing East-Southeast between 10‐20 knots and the sea state will be rough.

A small craft caution is in effect for gusty winds and rough seas.

Low tide began at 7:28 a.m. and high tide will come in at 1:35 p.m.

The sun will set at 6:08 p.m. and the moon will rise at tomorrow at 12:05 a.m.
