United Nations, PAHO, European Union and Canadian Fund donate to Belize for medical equipment to fight COVID-19

By BBN Staff: Director of Health Services, Dr. Marvin Manzanero and Lizett Bell, Director of Policy, Planning and Project Management Unit at the Ministry of Health are on the Ask the Experts segment today.

The health officials extended gratitude to all international and local partners for their donations.

Bell informed that the United Nations agency has pledged US $200,000 to Belize for medical equipment.

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) will donate 6,000 swabs and tubes and is providing funds for health education.

The European Union will also provide funds for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)’s, n95 face shield, patient trolly and medical treatment trolly.

Belize will also receive US$500,000 for the procurement of PPE’s.
