Belize health officials monitor increase of COVID-19 cases in neighboring countries

By BBN Staff: The Office of the Director of Health Services informed that health officials are closely monitoring the occurences in Guatemala and Quintana Roo, Mexico as the cases of COVID-19 rise.

Guatemala has gone on a virtual lockdown for the next 3 days given the increasing numbers of cases they are having.

Up to date, Guatemala has registered over 1300 cases.

Quintana Roo has reported 1257 cases neighbouring Othon P. Blanco (includes Chetumal) now having a total of 37 cases with 6 deaths; they have now double our total amount of cases in Belize.

Health officials continue to monitor the situation.
