Moist and unstable weather ahead

The latest weather report from the National Meteorological Service of Belize says that moist and unstable conditions will prevail today.

The 24-hour forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies with a few showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms around the country today, then increasing mainly over the north tonight.

A flood alert remains in effect for low lying and flood-prone areas and communities near rivers and streams.

Today’s temperature highs will range from 85 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 89 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 80 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 80 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, to 74 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be gusty, blowing East-Southeast at 10-20 knots and the sea state will be moderate-rough.

A small craft caution is in effect for gusty winds and rough seas.

High tide came in at 6:53 a.m. and low tide will come in at 1:47 p.m.

The sun will set at 6:24 p.m. and the moon will rise today at 3:27 p.m.
